Rodzina 800+ (Family 800+, formerly Rodzina 500+ / Family 500+)
Rodzina 800+ (formerly 500+) is Poland's flagship universal child benefit, providing a tax-free monthly cash payment of PLN 800 (raised from PLN 500 in January 2024) for every child up to age 18, regardless of family income. Launched in April 2016 by the national government under the Law and Justice party, it was expanded to full universality (removing the income test) in July 2019. It is funded entirely by the Polish state budget and administered by ZUS, with the primary goals of reducing child poverty and boosting fertility.

- Benefit details
The benefit is PLN 800/month per child (raised from PLN 500 as of January 1, 2024, applied automatically without a new application). It is untaxed and paid for every child regardless of family income. The benefit period runs annually from June 1 to May 31; families must file a renewal application each year via ZUS's electronic channels. If the annual application is submitted between February 1 and June 30, payment starts from June 1; later applications are paid from the month of filing through the end of the benefit period. Since June 2025, Ukrainian refugee families must show school-age children are enrolled in a Polish school or 'zerówka' (pre-school year) to keep receiving the benefit for those children; from February 2026 further conditions (verified legal residence and economic activity) apply to foreign temporary-protection holders.

Application Process
- How to apply
Applications can only be submitted electronically, through one of three channels: the ZUS PUE/eZUS electronic services platform, the Emp@tia government portal (empatia.mpips.gov.pl), online/electronic banking, or the free mZUS mobile app. Paper applications are not accepted. Applicants must re-file each year for the annual benefit period (June 1 - May 31) and provide a bank account for non-cash disbursement.
- Selection process
There is no competitive selection; ZUS reviews each electronic application and supporting documentation (proof of parentage/guardianship, child's identity/PESEL, and, for foreign nationals, proof of legal residence) and grants the benefit automatically to all applicants who meet the universal eligibility criteria for each child under 18.
